So I have another bike aka the fast bike (steel road bike) that I sometimes take around for errand running. It can run a rear rack however I do not want it to stay on there past when I exactly need it. So I got to thinking about just doing a seatpost rack for a light load.

Here are some that I am looking at, if anyone has a recommendation for another seatpost rack please let me know.

The only concern I have is the QR mount on the Topeaks, I have used other products with a similar lever and it just seems to come loose over time on me.

Arekl also has a seatpost rack that has an additional stability point that fixes to the seat. I don't currently use a seatpost rack, but if I did, I'd sure give that one a look, as it helps with any kind of side to side sway.

Since most seat post rack/bag combos can't handle too much weight, maybe consider going with something that gives you roughly the same volume without the need for the rack? Banjo Brothers and Jandd both maybe of interest...

I use one similar to the Sette St-400 Rear Rack. I only use mine when I'm transporting clothes and lunch between home/work. If I don't need it, I take it off. It is a PIA to mount/remove because it's not a quick release, but I have the operation down to about 2 or 3 minutes to mount/dismount. On days when i don't need the full rack, I have a medium/expandable seat wedge that fits everything I need (phone, wallet, keys, spare socks/underwear).

I use the Bajo Brothers bag. Its about the same size as a typical trunk bag (without panniers) - maybe slightly smaller depending on the shape of what you are trying to carry. There are much larger trunk bags available. Some require "helper" attachments to the seatpost, but are still easier to remove than a rack.

This one is really nice if you have a steel or vintage looking bike. Kind of pricey though...

im running a fox rack that i got for cheap on evilbay .... its similar to the Sette ST-400

works fine so far ... i keep it as low as possible to help with stability ....

A interesting idea a quick Google search shows this as a German product or is specifically sold there, I cannot seem to find anyone who is in the US selling this.

Rixen and Kaul is German. It's a bit misleading, however, as not everyone is familiar with the name but have at least heard of their product- Klickfix. Velofred (based out of NY) has the rack in question.

AMAZON also carries them.

Warning: Be aware you need to get the "adapter' separately, as you can get it to mount on the handlebar or seatpost. I got the "Seatpost Extender", shown below (I mount my trunk bag to it, so, even when I'm not using the rack, the extender serves a purpose)
