HELP - Saddle Alternative
I've tried some of the saddles on the market WITH "padded shorts", but unable to find one comfortable enough to ride more than 50km (started to get painful around 25km). Where I've I've tried: Brooks, Charge Knife & Spoon, SDG bel air, Topeak Allay, Fizik Nisene Sport., I've also tried different seating position as well as riding position (obviously!)
Does such a saddle exist?
I wanted SDG Bel Air rear with it deep thick concave cushion (compared to "charge spoon"), but I prefer the Charge Spoon nose, less padding with thinner cross section (the Bel Air nose are too thick, it getting in my way due to my male anatomy) or better still with air cushion nose like the Topeak Alley (but I hated the 2 hard convex shaped rear point up against my derriere).
So any GOOD suggestion? Have anyone tried other SDG model, because I kinda like the I Beam idea (lighter)?
BTW, I always tilt saddle nose downward with Charge Spoon, but always level if using Topeak Alley.

Under my backside I was OK with Brooks Professionals ,
on several international tours. [lined, but un-padded shorts]
now for local commuting I have brought out the Avocet race 2, again,
that they got Selle Italia to make... so 80's Turbo shaped..
Others: Fizik Vitesse HP, CP3, SM Concor Max, and Rolls..
[nylon-foam base saddles are not stretching if they get wet]
.. but back sides and saddle choices are pretty individual specific..
Do you alternate sitting and standing on the pedals and not sitting on the saddle,
frequently enough?
get out of the saddle for those little rises in the route.

Unless I'm spaced out, I missed WHICH brooks you tried. B17's are like a couch to me, Professionals can be like butt-hatchets before broken in, and my wide butt screams with the b17N that I own and occasionally put on a bike when I'm feeling like self-flagellating my backside.

What kind of discomfort are you feeling now? Do different saddles alleiviate that discomfort but introduce discomfort in another area? How often do you ride and for about how long? What kind of bike do you have?
This could also be a bike fit issue more than a saddle issue.

I'll bet you should check your posture on the bike. I suggest lowering the handlebars a couple inches, which will tip your pelvis forward a little more. Also maybe move your seat back a little. Don't forget to straighten your lower back, not curve it. Really stretch out over your bike. Keep your shoulders loose, elbows bent. All of this will help get your stronger muscles into the picture - hams and glutes, and lessen all the weight on your rear end. Somehow puts your sit bones in a better position.
give it a shot - if it doesn't work, well, you haven't lost anything. Worked for me!

If you don't like leather saddles, have you tried something like the Terry Liberator? I used to love mine before I tried leather. A little more cushioned than a Brooks, but not grossly so.

There may be a saddle for each backside, though there are a thousand saddles
compared to millions of different posteriors.
go sit on a bunch and see..
