COLNAGO Tecnos 58cm Road Bike Frame Fork + Headset - $700 (Brookline)

Date: 2010-12-20, 5:38PM EST
Reply to: sale-rs28j-2122851501@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Selling my Colnago Tecnos frame. Sale includes Colnago Tecnos frame, Colnago engraved fork, headset (In excellent working condition). Colnago engraved fork crown, lugs, seat stays, dropouts, and bottom bracket shell. Frame is made of oversized Columbus steel tubing, crimped, same as Colnago Master. Makes for a very stiff and responsive, but supple feeling ride. I have a good amount of experience with steel tubing (Columbus, Reynolds, Tange, Ishiwata), this tubeset could be some of the nicest I have ridden. Size is 58cm. Downtube has guides installed for ergo shifters/brifters.

Frame and fork are in very good condition. Paint Job is fantastic (Purple and magenta with silver and fluorescent green painted decals... Colnago definitely has some of the coolest paintjobs). Please see photos. Everything is straight. Some paint chips, no rust, dents or deep scratches. Frame and fork are fully chromed (Some oxidization under fork crown, not visible when brake is mounted, removable with light sanding).

In case you are wondering, yes this frame could be converted to fixed gear or single speed. However, it really deserves to be built up correctly with period specific Campagnolo or Dura Ace (I built it up with a mixed DA 7400 group because I already had a couple Campagnolo equipped bikes... and the meeting of Italian and Japanese craftsmanships makes for an interesting result.) It has only been very lightly used by me, taken on a couple medium distance summer weather rides (less than 200 miles, no rain or excess moisture) Stored inside. LISTING IS FOR FRAME, FORK, AND HEADSET. call or text 617 285 9317. Thank you!

The Colnago above is just hideous. Hideous.

And this is coming from a guy who generally thinks "hideous" bikes are beautiful.

When I see a quality collection like that I think of two things:

(1) My hobby could easily get that far out of control

(2) I wish I could just buy it all and start a shop. Inventory control would be a challenge.

If you need a present for a bike geek, you will absolutely never find such collectible components on a bike anywhere near this price. My loss your gain. No emails, no offers or trades. BTW, just how soon do SF CL listings expire? I thought the listing was current when you posted it here.
I was talking to Keith about this the other day. I guess because of the sheer volume of our CL, they expire after about a week. I posted a wheelset for sale and it was expired after just eight days. It's a little ridiculous. I go to other areas of CL and I see postings that are well over a month old. Makes no sense to me.

Corsaro Astron Road Bike *Rare* - $240 (Winchester)

Date: 2010-12-21, 10:24PM EST
Reply to: sale-2farn-2124842359@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

I have for sale a 52 cm Corsaron Astron road bike. This is a very rare bike, it has suntour cyclone front and rear derailers. the front wheel is a campy aero rim wheel which is perfect for aero dynamics and is very smooth and the rear wheel is a box rim for extra strength. It is a 12 speed bike with down tube shifters. The big chain ring is brand new, the tires are brand new bontrager selects, the tubes are new, and the bike has been all tuned up. This would make a great high quality commuter bike. if interested you can call me at 617-833-9733 or email me at the adress above. The bike comes complete minus pedals.

I saw this on Ebay just a few days ago. I believe that he is on his third posting of this bike. I thought it was odd that it hasn't sold.
