I've un-commuterized my mtb!
Now that I've retired I've replaced my Schwalbe Marathon 26x1.5 tires that were good for city riding with 26x2.1 fat Kenda Nevergals, more like the originals. It is fun being able to ride through anything. And you know what, it doesn't feel slower but it does have more road buzz. And to be honest, this is my second commuter, not the one I rode most often. That one still has Gatorskins.

I occasionally even use one of the commuter bikes to go on adventures.

Think of how much fun you missed with those Schwalbes. I have road bikes and mountain bikes for commuting. The road bike is for going fast and an easier ride to work. The mountain bikes...with full knobs...are for having fun while riding to work. Hang the speed. These were taken along my commuting route. There's a hard path nearby but bombing through the woods is ever so much more fun.
