Fuji Crosstown 1.3 LS (2014)
Heyo. The other half is in the market for a new bike, since we're making the step up from the Big Box Store ones together. At the LBS she fell in with this:
Fuji Bikes | LIFESTYLE | PAVEMENT - CITY COMFORT | CROSSTOWN 26 1.3 LS
She test rode it and really likes it. Are there any caveats we need to be on the lookout for? A quick review of the features only redlights the shocks for me (useless on roads, possible hindrance). Everything else is ok - but I'm not an expert.
Thanks,
M.

Fuji makes great bikes, but I'm not impressed with that model, because of the useless suspended fork.
A better bike, IMHO, would be either the Giant Sedona W, located at a Giant brick & mortar bike shop, or the Terry Burlington City Bike from www.performancebike.com, located online.
Neither of these bikes will rob your little lady of her energy as she pedals to her destination.
* Have a shop install a quick release for the front wheel. That will make the bike light enough so that after she removes the front wheel, she can more easily lift the bike. Also, when locking the bike up outside, she can take the front wheel with her for extra security against theft.
If she's seriously going off-road, then she'll need a bonafide mountain bike with a decent suspended fork.
Good Luck!

Or, one of the Fuji Absolutes in step thru model. My granddaughter has an Absolute 1.0 step thru, and it's a great bike.

I'll ask her when I get home what she liked most about it. She liked it on the test ride and I suspect part of her enjoyment came from it simply being a higher end bike than we're used to. Hopefully it isn't the colourscheme that seals it for her!
Prior to that one she had also eyed up a step through single speed, but I don't remember the model (all Fuji shop), so maybe she'll find something else she likes even more when we do go to buy next weekend.

Yeah, the lack of gearing undid it for her. I did point out that it could be upgraded into a hub gear, though. This would be her commuter bike; there's hills, and it is always a headwind!

Check out Breezer Greenway LX. We were looking for a step through bike for my wife. The Fuji Absolute 1.5 looked like a nice bike component-wise but they were sold out in her size and we didn't like the color. The dealer told us about the Breezer Bikes which are owned by the same company that handles Fuji in this country. We ended up getting the Breezer Greenway LX and got a really good deal from a Menonite Bike shop in WI. My wife really likes the bike.

So it was actually the 2.3, which we decided to buy. It is actually a really good bike, and has replaced the POS we've been using as a commuter for a long while now. Other half loves it to death; we're now firmly converted into quality bike territory.
Question, though - what on earth are these things on the fork for?
I see mounting spots for fenders/racks, but the two bumps on the right and one on the left aren't something I know about.

WestPablo-
A bike shop near my home recommended the Fuji Crosstown 1.3. I was wondering, what do you mean by "useless" suspended fork?
Thank you very much.
