Spoke wrench for my C&V!
This is the time of year for other interests and hobbies. Short days, cold weather, snow. So out come my toy trains to tinker with and enjoy. Took this clockwork loco off the shelf...hasn't been run in 10 years. Oiled the gears and axles and uh-oh...no wind-up key!?
Went to the basement shop. Surely something in my tool kit will work. YES! Spoke wrench!

I'd have been clumsily trying to crank that square drive with my 4" adjustable wrench, unless perhaps that square drive reminded me of a spoke nipple (where's that "light bulb" emoticon when I need it?).
Vintage spoke wrenches though, my Var has proven to be wear-proof, even the machining marks in the slot still holding up to decades of use.
And the fit over a DT spoke nipple is almost too tight at times.
It's a little clumsy when the spoke has much of an angle exiting the nipple (which is all too common), but it grips like no other.
