Fist post so if this is in the wrong place please forgive me.

I just had a All Pro 3 given to me and I am trying to find out the year of the bike and also maybe to value of it.

First, the exact year of a bike has no impact on value. Its not like a 1971 All Pro is worth more than a 1972. When selling, its OK to just use an educated guess, or an estimate such as "early 1970s" or even broader "1970s". All Pro was a brand sold by K-Mart, really the lowest of the low. So the value of an All Pro is minimal.

However, some of the All Pros had Sturmey Archer 3 speed. If that is the case, then there is some value (not a lot). Mens style worth more than womans. Shift lever and rear hub will be marked with brand. Sturmey Archer hub will have a date code. Value then depends on condition (rust) and tires (dry rotted, old versus good condition). New tires can cost as much as the value of the bike.

If it has the Shimano shifter and rear hub, I would donate it.

While it's nice to know the year a bicycle, I agree with wrk101's statements. The exact year will have negligible impact on the value, which is low to begin with. This is the type of bicycle that is typically seen at garge sales with a $20 price tag and are often given away by owners for free, just to get them out of the garage. It appears to have been contract manufactured by one of the USA manufacturers. The subject bicycle may possibly pre-date Kmart and be from the Kresge era. The rear hub appears to be a Shimano. If so, and it's post 1975, there should be a two letter code on the hub that will tell us the manufactured date. Generally, this would be no less than a year earlier than the bicycle's manufacture date. Picture assist...

First Kmart opened in 1962. We had one in my town in 1968. But they also kept the Kresge stores operating too. So bike could have been found in either store.
