Lizard Skins is nice, but I have a hard time justifying the price, especially on the bikes that get a lot of use.

I like Cinelli Cork tape.

I usually go with black tape to hide the dirt.

For my riding, which is almost never more than 2 or 3 hours, I find that almost any padded bar tape is fine. If you wear padded gloves it makes that even more true. It is important to get the wrapping right.

I remember riding with hard plastic or cloth tape years ago, and anything is great after that.

But I am a cheapskate, and also buy black because it doesn't look dirty so quickly.

I was using Lizard Skins and Zipp and really liked the way they felt. Unfortunately, I use white tape and in the summer time, both brands got dye stains on the tape from my gloves on the first ride. Couldn't seem to wash the stains out no matter what detergent I used. I've since been using 3T tape in white. It holds up as good as the Lizard Skin and Zipp tape and while it does get dirty, it doesn't stain quite as fast as the others and I can wash most of the stain out if I use Shout.

The tape is super comfortable and easy to install...as most Cinelli tapes are. And there are the cool graphics too.

I have Fizik on my carbon bike (carbon bars) and like it a lot but on my club racer I use Planet Bike tape; easy to wrap, feels good, excellent grip and wears extremely well. Use Planet Bike on my commute bike too.

Did my first ride today with the new wraps. Felt great. The only thing I didn't like on the Fizik was the raised rubber edge about 1/4 way across the tape. Made to hard to wrap and keep it looking even. I ended up wrapping from the center of the roll as it came in the box. Looks and feels good!!
