Fezzari Wasatch Peak Comp 29 vs Trek X Caliber 7
I must say that I do not know much about mountain bikes other then basic things. My budget is around 1k and I settled for these two bikes. Are these models close enough in quality? What is actually a better bike overall? Are they similar in quality Or should I look elsewhere?
Thanks.

out of the two i'd probably like the fezzari better because it has boost hub spacing 1x drivetrain. the trek isnt a bad bike but has older specs for those two things. full disclosure i have a fezzari and I like their bikes. SR suntour fork on the wasatch might be considered one weakness of the bike. I also like the geometry of the fezzari better according to the published numbers.

While I am very biased and very new to this sport, I love my Jamis Dragonslayer Pro. For $1099 it has some great components if you can get by with the 26+ "outdated" wheel size.Steel frame also.

Well yeah I would have to agree 26" size has been forgotten but when I started never had an option of a 29" wheel so what do I ride now that wasn't broke? 26" wheel. When is big enough big enough?

The X Caliber and Roscoe are the same frame and both Boost spaced. I shopped the Roscoe a couple years ago but it was out of stock everywhere at the time. The X has a more cross country build and Roscoe more trail. That’s why it has the wider range 2x drivetrain. They're a pretty good bike at their price level. They have a thoughtful blend of cheap bike standard and expensive bike standard stuff.
Fezzari... isn’t one I’ve looked too closely at
