Identifying Kona Lava Dome bike. What year?
Bought this bike second hand recently. It's in excellent condition. How can I identify what year it is and what's it worth? TIA

Incredibly rare and extremely valuable!
Just kidding If you found someone who knows these things and is really looking for one, you could expect to get 200-250 for it. If you don't, maybe a 100.
But, it is a very nice bike, some knowledgeable people would say its the epitome of the rigid mountain bike (no suspension) before front shocks forks and suspension rear triangles came and effed everything up. I think yours is a 1997-1998 model probably (I have a burnt-orange 1996 Lava Dome). It weighs ~26 lbs depending on tires and is a very flickable mountain bike. Yours looks to be be in really nice condition.
Enjoy the ride.

It appears to be a 1995 model based on the combination of Deore LX rear derailleur, STX crankset, Grip Shift and colour scheme. You may be able to corroborate this from the serial number and/or Shimano component date codes.

Well I had, now it's been repainted and done up. But yours is a real treasure - please keep it original :-)
It is one of the best riding bikes i've ever tried!
