New C&V Style Racing Bikes
My thought is to make a list here of currently available brand new C&V style road racing bikes from manufacturers, not handbuilt specials. Must be tube frames only (steel, aluminum or carbon). Obviously, rim brakes only. No 'modern' groupsets allowed, unless they maintain the C&V look. BIG bonus points for downtube shifters, quill stems, lugged frames, classic-style cranksets, etc.
A beautiful example here with a very unique made-in-Italy Columbus lugged? frame available in 16 sizes
The Bottecchia Legendary. My one criticism here is the crankset - way too modern looking. But otherwise - wow! Around $3500 from what I can see.

The State 4130 Road. Downtube shifter and vintage-style crankset sort of cancels out the negative points for the fork and threadless stem setup

The Bianchi L'Eroica bike certainly qualifies. Some C&V zealots on Bike Forums had complaints, of course. I've forgotten what they were, though. Ten-sprocket gear cluster? Should be a corncob cluster? Freehub? (That's in addition to the standard fallback "I can buy a mint version of the real thing on Craigslist for fifty bucks.")
Have to admire the attention to detail, though. Top tube cable clips!

Yes, odd looking. If I were to be critical of the execution of a retro ride it would be the single chain ring. A single down tube shifter doesn’t look “right” to me. The green one looks great to me otherwise. But since I’m a newbie to the CV bikes my opinion plus a nickel might buy a cup of coffee.
I like this thread idea. A brand new, vintage looking bike, ready to ride. Without having to chase down parts, free seized hardware, skinned knuckles, countless hours in the garage, late for dinner, finding misplaced tools, etc. Nahhh, where’s the fun in that? 😉

I feel the way I did as a kid, drooling over the Peugeot, Atala, Frejus, Legnano, and Raleigh racing bikes in my hometown bike shop in New Haven in the early '60s. (Didn't realize how unusual it was for a shop in Connecticut to carry all those lines.) How could anyone not love this thread?

Before anyone comments on how the bike is parted out, it's sold as a frameset, and made to order with your choice of pant, quill or threadless. So look at the frame shape and construction, not necessarily the paint or parts. Certainly qualifies. I realize the title of this thread is for "bikes", but sheesh, I haven't bought a complete "bike" since 1990. Parts and paint are variable, they can be chosen and replaced like clothing on a body. The frame is the statue, so to speak, that you adorn.
Most every bike here is a classic style, save the State model with the straight blade fork. Nope.
That Bianchi is one hot frame ! Yeah ... that's a classic !

Yes, frame & fork only after checking their site. My bad. Kinda wanna keep this to complete ready-to-ride bikes only because I think it says something about the manufacturer and their respect for the history and tradition of cycling that they offer something today.

I very much like the looks of these, BUT, I must agree that the cranks look a little out of place on many of them. The asking prices on some make the cost of Cinellis, Colnagos, 3R's and other seem low.

The flat bars are a major point deduction on that Peugeot LR01 Legend. Otherwise a cool inexpensive C&V style bike.

Agree. Just looking at framesets sans parts which are ubiquitous seems to be missing the point of this thread.
