Sharing my love of bicycles with sellers has hurt me more than helped me. Now, I keep internet interactions short and simple and share my passion more in-person if the seller seems like the type to care. Too many times have I thought a bicycle was owned by a passionate cyclist but I end up meeting a storage unit reseller instead.

They came cottered and square taper, I have one of each, the cottered is on a low level, cool older Bianchi and seems like it could have been original but I doubt it.

Would love to trade it for one my size.

Interesting and valid point. I have to change my strategy 100%. I think me acknowledging that I wanted this bike so badly left me in a horrible negotiating standpoint. I will NEVER do that again. Thank you for your reply.

Local sale a few years ago I went to see (but passed) was a very similar Bianchi, it had the cotterless steel Nervar, so yours could be original (and if so possibly earlier).

Look in a local coop and you will likely find a suitable fork to replace. For the record, never had a problem with the death fork at that time!
Someone should sell a t-shirt with the text "I had a death fork and lived!"

Pinarello Treviso (mid-'80s model) for $50 on NY CL. Bike is north of NYC in Ossining, NY. Bike is listed as a project bike. Set up as single speed, but seller has AND is including original Campy components. I don't usually see bikes like this listed, especially at this price.

Update: SOLD within about 6 hours of posting. I was starting to think nobody bothered with CL anymore. You only see the same overpriced, low-end bikes day after day. Somebody got lucky! I only passed on it because Mrs. C. threatened to hit me on the head with it if I bought it .. "NO MORE BIKES!"
