Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The feels like temp was one below this morning and I’m a little banged up from going down yesterday so I’m going to rest today.

Dragged my sorry ass out of bed at 7 PDT for what I assumed was an 8 AM Zoom workshop with a software vendor in Germany - our early morning, their end of day. Turns out that Germany doesn't go on DST until March 28, so the workshop doesn't start till 9 AM PDT.

So, a guy brought me my asking price on Saturday for the Camaro. S.o.B! Didn't think I'd feel this crappy about selling her. Ima miss her.

Frigging driveway looks so empty...

Rode across what I thought was snow. It wasn't. Back end of the bike went out and I went down on my left hip. I couldn't get unclipped in time to get a foot down. Bike is fine, ego is bruised.

I've always looked at snow shoveling as a cross-fit workout. It's both aerobic, weight-bearing, and overall great for keeping your winter weight down. It's a gift from the heavens.

Do people tear off their masks and throw them in the air, after the second shot?
No, as I understand it, you can still transmit or carry covid just not succumb to it.

Sorry about the tumble, but good thing you're not hurt.

Wife sent me this the other day. I must of been whining about something. Might be relevant here.

How many cars do you have now? I had 5 cars at one time and I hated getting rid of any one of them. I'm over that, at least for now.

Don't ask me why, but at some point I think I'm going to buy a Kia Soul. They've been on my radar for a couple years now. I can't explain it. I've never owned a new car. So before I retire, if this next contract is OK, I might get one as my preretirement gift to myself.

. On a 58Cm, 0 set back post, 110 or 120 stem 175 cranks, all is well.
Turns out I have a Centaur setback seatpost in 27.2 with enough extension to put my saddle at the right height. I would still need a new 130mm stem, probably new bars (this one came with a 40, I ride 44s, but I could compromise on a 42. Schwinn spec'd Cinelli stem and bars and there are lots of them still around. Cranks are 170s, and I wouldn't change them - probably couldn't find Sante in 175 anyway.

The seller's suggesting lower price to move it. I think he's not gotten much action.

We've had five, and that's a lot. Of course, two of them were kids' cars, but I still had to maintain them. Got rid of the extra at one time, but now it's back. We are now at four (with one being a kid's car), and that seems manageable. Technically, I have five, but one is mine in title and note only as I went on it to help my daughter get a decent financing rate.

I just saw an ad for one of those remote home alarm/locking systems. Is it just me, or does a remotely activated locking and unlocking system seem LESS secure than simple mechanical locking? I figure if YOU can do it remotely so can someone else.
