Hollow tech fixing bolt stripping out
The fixing bolt on my shimano hollowtech has stripped out twice in the last two months. Am I over tightening, under tightening? Are the plastic fixing bolts just cheap? I have seen titanium fixing bolts on eBay, would this be my best bet?
I have hollow tech on another bike and have never had this problem. Could it be the threading on the crank? Appreciate any help on this one. Thanks.

1. Loosen the pinch bolts using a 5mm allen wrench so you can remove the crank bolt using hand strength.
2. Tighten the crank bolt using the hand-operated plastic tool using just hand strength. Your bearings need just enough side load to prevent sideways movement. If you use a tool for leverage on this bolt you will either strip the bolt or damage your bearings!
3. Tighten the pinch bolts.
That's it.
We have a customer who's ruined two outboard bottom brackets by over-tightening the crank bolt. Don't be that guy.
