9x4 wheel spoke tensioning.

Guys and gals,

I recently got a bike that has the 9x4 wheel spoke set up (What is the actual name of this type of lacing?)

I noticed that the front wheel has a few spokes that are super loose, and I want to tension them and do a little truing, but since this is the first time I've had a wheel laced this way, I am afraid to take a shot at it until I get some words of advice..

Is this type of lacing special to where it required a specific tensioning method? or is it just like any regular ole wheel?

Thanks in advance! any help is greatly appreciated.

ps. here is a link to a photo of a wheel set up like mine. https://ebike.hu/kepek/CyW/rodi-freew...okerek-622.jpg

Pedro.

A Boutique wheel .. They are still a group of 4 , r/l/r/l, just not equally spaced around the wheel..

crash that one and you can re lace it with a regular 36 spoke rim, [9 groups of 4]
can't see if the drilling in the hub skips a gap too.

It's just like a regular ol' 36H where the spokes have been bunched together to create those extra big gaps. Aestethics reasons. No immediate functional advantage, no immediate functional disadvantage as long as the spoke key clears the neighbouring spoke.

True and tension just like any other 36H wheel. Just ignore the occasional bigger gap.
