My vintage trek in action!

Got some great pics from a cyclocross race this weekend. I was using my 1984 trek 720. Got the win, cat 4 state champ. Time to quit sandbagging it and race 3s.

Anybody else do races on their classic bikes? I am planing on using my bottecchia for a few crits next spring.

I know its blasphemy to have a carbon crank on this bike. Whats a good looking double 110 bcd alloy crank?

We have threads about 'cross sandbagger's like you in the Bike Ref's Google Group

Seriously though, congrats on the win, and double for putting the old steel in action.

An old double 110 crank? The Sakae SA, SX, CX & probably some of their others are available in both 110 doubles and triples. Just look for the doubles.

Those are some rad photos, Dan. Nice build, too - let's see some better shots of the bike. You using tubies or clinchers?

I'll try to get some pictures in a couple of days, I'm away from home now.
For tires I'm using vittoria tubulars. Managed to get a great deal on a wheel set at a swap meet a couple of months ago. Front is a dura-ace 7400 with a mivic gl330 rim. Rear is an ultegra 6500 with a mavic reflex rim. They ride a lot nicer than clinchers, hopefully they will hold up.
