Thanks to the lurking in this forum for ages and seeping in the knowledge of all you fine folks, I have recently acquired a Kona Jake The Snake, everything about this bike is perfect for me. Thanks so much to the forum for schooling me without knowing it! Not racing right now, but hope to in the future, mostly just a go everywhere bike. Completely stock right now, may change out the saddle in the future, but so far I love it:

Looking at the photo, the steerer easily could be much shorter; the problem is that the handlebars are mis-aligned. If they were set up so the bottom tips were pointing between level and at the rear axis, then the hoods would be much higher and the length of protruding steerer could be halved. The bars would be more comfortable and the steerer less likely to break.

Looks great Scrub! I miss that frame but it need to be one size bigger. Are you racing it this season? I'll be up in Seattle for the SSCXWC at SIR. I'll keep an eye out.

I'm hoping to get out for a couple of races (I have to race at least one since the Silver Lake race is at my work and I have to be there anyway) but I need to get fitter! I've been running and riding more dirt, started working on dismounts but I don't have much standover so its a bit scary, damn my short legs!

My first ever build. Not built as a cross bike, but since it's built from an older VooDoo Wazoo frame figured you cross folks would like a look. Built it as a do-it-all ride.
