Broken Cannondale Shifter Boss
I have what I think is a 1992 Cannondale R600 with a broken shifter boss. In this frame, the shifter boss is attached with a threaded rod that extends through the tube. On mine, one end is broken and the rod is bent. I think the Cannondale part number is A905. I haven't been able to find a Cannondale replacement, but I did find that Nova sells something that might work.
Nova Shifter Boss
So my questions--
Anyone have one?
Anyone know where I can get the Cannondale one?
Anyone know if the Nova part will work for me?
.
Not my photo, but this is what mine looks like.

Finding the Cannondale one will be nearly impossible. I have some partials but nothing complete. If you post a picture of everything you have, perhaps I have the bit that has broken.
Otherwise, the NOVA part will work with some fitting.

I think I have the NOVA one, probably got it from rccardr. I also had half the Cannondale one, but tossed it recently. It is flimsier, unless I had the wrong one.
I would be glad to send it to you. PM me while I go look for it. I'm only back in town for a day, then back in the air for a couple of days.

Thanks to both of you. I will take pictures of what I have. I think I really need only one side. And maybe the threaded rod is just a generic threaded rod.

Here are photos of what I have. Basically, just one of the ends is broken-- the part with the threads is broken off so it can't be screwed on. The other other end is fine. The threaded rod is a little bent, but I am guessing I could make it work.
So I think I just really need one end.
I should note that one end (the broken one) appears to be all plastic. The other end has metal for the actual shifter boss. But other than that they look the same.

Those are different than anything I've got. Sorry, can't help.

But I also think Robbie is going to send me the Nova kit. But maybe we should save the kit for someone that needs the whole kit? Or vice versa? Or if the kit works for me I should send you my good boss so you have a full kit?
I am sure someone else will come along looking for these bits.

How long is the threaded rod ? Not sure if there are different lengths for different down tube diameters.
I have various bits, including metal rod glued into a metal boss, so maybe saving the kit for someone who needs everything makes sense.

Do you still happen to have that metal boss?

I haven't read thru the whole thread so forgive if it has been pointed out.
I had this and I used one long bolt which held on the shifter and the shifter pod and threaded straight thru to the other side. I drilled out the threads on the broken side.
The other shifter attached normally.
Took a little while to get the correct lenght of bolt but it worked perfectly and looked normal.

Just picked up this 92' R600 for a great deal as it's missing the Left (front derailleur) boss. Right boss and shifter is intact and working fine and threaded rod is there on the Left side. Appears someone has epoxied some sort of boss on at some stage but its no longer there.
Before I consider switching to STI shifters i'm checking if you still have the parts you mentioned in the post above and would be willing to send to New Zealand?
Also can't add photos but happy to send some via another means to clarify the part if required.
Thanks.
