Addiction 2021.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

More snow here. Today is espresso, a little reading by the fireplace, and a little Netflix. I might hit the trainer later if the spirit moves me.

Just a couple of inches of the wet, heavy stuff. But I'll take it.

Yes! I proudly use a 7 mm mechanical pencil.

Above is an old photo of one that's been retired from the fleet indicating a proofread fail.

Fake non-miles today - time-crunched.

The wife had designated this extended weekend as a time to get things done around the house, like getting a jump on converting the office in to a bedroom.

....and then she scheduled a zoo trip in the middle of our first day of the git-r-done weekend. She regularly does stuff like this; the timeframe for anything requiring work, physical work, is always severely underestimated, despite my efforts to keep it real.

Oh well, at least it felt good to pedal in semi-anger on the trainer. I've adjusted my interval targets downwards a smidge to account for lost fitness over the last few months, and it felt good, just about right. Maybe a hair too easy... but I'll leave it there.

That's a heck of a thick chunk of lead. I use a .5mm Pentel Graphgear 1000, myself.

Depending on one's definition.

It's snowing. Not in an accumulating sense. Just as a bonus F U from #EndlessWinter.

I have I the touch of a blacksmith and can't use a 5 mm which constantly break. A 7mm still gives a fine enough line in my opinion. Can't abide the 9mm.

I was poking fun at you for missing the significant decimal point.

Apparently, I used 0.5mm BITD. I haven't used a pencil as my main writing instrument in so long that I don't have one in my desk.. but,, I still have a box of leads.

For many years, while I was an accountant, I mainly used mechanical pencils.

0.9mm pencils are like crayons.

Bigger flakes than we're seeing in unincorporated Knox County. No report seen from nearby Jefferson City.
