thumb shifter routing question

after riding it for a few month in the city, realizing that the drop-racing style handle bar—randonneur bar, more accurately—is not for my riding style. guess i became more fond to laid-back, lazy, relaxing, dutch city bike style.

thinking to replace it with a north road style bar.
knowing DT shifters wouldn't make any more sense with the new bar, a pair of thumb shifters came to my mind.
like the photo below—courtesy of VO site.

so here the question comes in.
what do i need to install where the DT shifters used to be, then?
guess something similar to the one used for stem shifter—basically connects/stops the housed cable(from the shifter) to the raw cable(to the derailleur)?
is there any kind of specific part that can be placed to where the clamp-on shifters on DT?

also attaching the shifter part of my bike too here.

many thanks in advance for your kind inputs and suggestions.

Yep, just some bolt on stops I believe they might be able to attach to the shifter band. If not that band, there are others that do work. You'll have to remove your levers and see what the boss on the band looks like.

Shimano seems to be most popular, usually run between 13-20 dollars. I've got them on a couple bikes and like them just fine.

Velo Orange also sells some from Dajia for $10.00. I think they look a bit ugly, but they are probably fine too.

@squirtdad
although i do like the style of the rivendell one, location of the stopper holes don't seem to match the current routing, i'm afraid.

@wrk101
i do agree w. ya on c&v feel of it.

thanks, folks!

The Suntour clamp-on has that classic look, but lacks cutouts in the stops. The ones like the one linked from the rivendel site (Tektro, Origin8, etc) dont have the classic look but they DO have the slits cut so you can easily slide the cable in and out. Useful for keeping your cables lubed up. I dont think the routing change would make a huge difference?

That is pretty decent, good to know it exists.

yeah. i might try, but have to see it i guess.
i think the rivendell one is more for those having cable guide at the bottom of BB, guessing from the distance between each cable guide.
my frame has both guides on each far outside of the diameter.
the cables might touch the frame contouring like a bit of spiral around the DT, although i am not sure.
(not sure if i explain well...)

btw. Rivendell also has a really good looking stem shifter mount too. attempted.
