My latest project, a 1989 Panasonic DX-4000. Picked it up as a slapped together single speed, ridiculous gearing given the hills around here (52/13). Returned it to its multispeed roots.

WOW! Great work saving that one! It looks great and I am sort of digging the white wall tires. What are they?

For those of you with Panasonics or Schwinn-a-sonics, I have opened the NEW owner registry on the Panasonic Bicycles Virtual Museum page. Feel free to add your bicycles to the registry. https://panasonicbikemuseum.info/bicy...join-registry/
You can view the currently registered bikes here: https://panasonicbikemuseum.info/bicycle-registry/
(I'm working on fixing the thumbnail image issue but eventually you'll be able to view the full sized images)

Here's a 1981 DX-4000 that I've been riding fixed lately. Great riding frame; no surprise to me as I also have a 1988 DX-3000.

I only have one Panasonic bike, a Cruiser 1. I replaced the big chrome cruiser bars and sofa sized seat with some alloy risers and a gel saddle. Put some planet bike fenders and a basket on it as well. I'll have to post a photo later. I really do like it, it's my only cruiser.

Eighties-era Panasonic City Bike. Bike was ridden exactly five times before I got it. Headset and fork are the only parts that are original. I updated it and tried to lighten it but it's still pretty heavy. Suntour deraillers and thumb shifters are all NOS. Also featuring a NOS Rhode Gear rack bag w/tags!

I've never noticed this thread before, here is my most recently built bike, a 1986 Panasonic Touring DeLuxe which I purchased from my LBS in 1987 as a closeout. This was take from a ride last summer. I know I shot this from the wrong side, but I wasn't expecting to post it here!

Here is my recently aquired '85? Sport 1000 12 speed, Serial number on rear dropouts stamped 4G04764 - badge serial number reads 5044. What I thought was an '84 model appears to be an '85 now that I've pulled up the scanned catalogue on the virtual museum site. Tange 900 double butted frame, mostly original components from what I can tell. However, my rear derailleur is a SunTour Accushift 2000, so parhaps this had been swapped at some point. Will post new pics once it's done (new tires/tubes, fenders...for now).

Some new recent pics below. Besides servicing all the bearings (minus bottom bracket) and making adjustments I've added:
-SKS P45 Fenders
-Cane Creek Brake hoods(needed to trim slightly to allow full pivot of my Shimano levers)
-Bottle mount
-Cheapo Bell lights
-Mini Comp(forget the brand)
-Bontrager T1 tires & new tubes

This little beauty should be arriving sometime this week...
Still in clean up mode and undergoing a few changes but she's a beauty!

Very pretty. I would love a nice GPX group but the timing is never right when I see one.

Any chance that anybody here was friends with user BikemanBob?
I've sent him a message and an email, but it doesn't look like he has used his account in over a year.
Was hoping to get in touch with him to see if he still had this bike, and if he could send me some closer pictures of the decals.
I have exact same Panasonic DX-2000 Chrome frame (most amazing frame in this universe!), which was regretfully severely damaged last season.
I am considering repairing/replacing the bent/cracked rear drops, and repainting.
There isn't too much left of my decals, which I was hoping to replicate.
BikemanBob's decals appear to be in amazing condition, and I'm really hoping I could snag some closer pics from him so I can create my own replacements.
Would only replace the decal on the chain stay, the top tube, and the head tube.
I only obtained the frame 2 years ago, and I assume the previous owner took off the seat tube decals (which in my opinion, look awful).
Here is a picture of my poor wounded Panasonic:

Hi Guys,
I am considering this Panasonic PT1 - Les Maillots (converted TT handlebar) with RX100 8 speed groupset
Any chance this could be a legit bike?
Bottom bracket serial stamped: 4805789

I had to pause to think for a minute. Have I ever owned a Panasonic bike? I'm sorry to say no, I haven't. I always respected those bikes a lot. They were built right.

Here's my '88 DX5000 >>> Tange Prestige >>> Shimano 6400 Groupset.
The problem in Germany with those bikes was that the y had the same reps as the Panasonic Stuff liek video recorders,
micro waves and so on. One dealer told me that he had to buy 3 of those to get a micro wave for free.
So they never had the structure to enter the market deeply.
Great riding bike and adorable paint scheme.
