eh, not really. especially with a lot of the new boutique all-road/gravel bikes being lugged steel with very similar geometry as vintage steel road and mountain bikes. component wise, a bike can be just about whatever you want it to be.

though i suppose comparing old steel to new carbon could be considered apples to oranges, but op didn't specify carbon.
