Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Fixed Gear Steering Wheel

Saw this for sale on craigslist for $299

"Just FWI this can only be used on a brakeless fixie cause there is no place to put a brake on it but its really fun to use. If you want your ride to really stand out then this is for you cause the only other one I've ever seen is on my bike. Be unique."

Anybody else riding one of these?

you see it on an actual bike... and yes, it looks as ridiculous as u imagined.

by the chain tension of that guy's bike... do u really trust this statement from that seller?

I know NYC can be pricey but $300 bucks for a old bmx stem, some bolts and an old steering wheel. You can get those off the internet for $30 total or $75 if you want to get really classy.

Now if they can only figure out a way to make fixed gear spinning rims for the true hipster who has it all.
