MIT is Flamingo?
Good morning from Japan.
I think MIT is a Taiwanese company that assembles the FLAMINGO, which is a hydroformed alloy Brompton.
Here in Japan, there are many original folding bikes:

My favorite folding bike is hands down the CARACLE. It's lightweight (11Kg), inexpensive ($1,250), has suspension, compact, fast, high quality all around, 20" wheels, and it is absolutely gorgeous. But the weight limit is 80 Kilograms. My neighbor has one.

Revelo is another great one. They make folding pedal bikes called the LIFT and an Electric model called the FLEX. LIFT can be converted to electric as well.
