You hate it when what's (?) homophobic? Never heard of a bike making rude comments before.

Did I forget the sarcasm tag? Sorry.

Yes, the joke is that bikes do not make homophobic comments. Presumably the CL seller intended to say that he, not the bike, was gay friendly.

I can live with that one. There's not many French Bikes worth any more than $300. Most often less...

A little cross-posting. For those of you that missed it on the "Are you looking for one of these!?" Thread.

A pair of pedals for merely $2025.

Not much wear for old BMX pedals though.

^ I saw a different style of Titron pedals in the Speedplay Pedal Museum, so I forwarded the auction to Richard Bryne (Speedplay founder). He responded saying that he also has a pair like those that just sold. He opined that given the hammer price on this pair, he might have to put his in a safe deposit box.

I don't worry about taking a $100 bicycle and re-working it to to fit the owner's desires. We're not talking about a museum piece, or a one of a kind 1890's bicycle in showroom condition.

That bike has a lot of Patina. In other words, it has been battered.

I actually like fraken-building from a bare frame, and have been really enjoying my latest mostly SR11 equipped Colnago C40.

Given a choice of pre-Record, steel Record, vs Nuovo Record, I'd choose the Nuovo Record, even if dates didn't align perfectly.

I think one could ride it as long as one didn't go over any bumps.

Most people can touch their toes with straight legs, so it should be fine with bent legs. But it looks awkward. I'd expect a really long stem or ape hangers for a Sun EZ-1 look.

Hopefully the seat is adjustable on that lowrider, otherwise it will limit who can ride it.

So if it's not high end enough to excite "you" then it's okay to chop the bars off and rob the components. Got it. Thanks,,,,BD

The handlebars don't look that wide, and look a little ahead of the pedals. I'm trying to imagine pedaling nearly bent in half, and not having my knees hit my elbows. Might be doable, but I'm sure this worked better in his head than real life.

On the EZ-1.

But the lowrider above appears to have the seat welded in place.

I don't really care as long as the previous owner rode and enjoyed the bicycle. Best if they don't do anything irreversible, but even so, someone might enjoy it, or those little bits taken off can be put back on.

My old Colnago Super has certainly evolved over the years, starting with the time I caught the derailleur in the spokes over 30 years ago, and most recently with a change from a freewheel to a cassette. And, maybe too much sun, rain, and a bit of salt mixed in too. I'm considering adding some braze-ons. I'd probably do it if the frame was 1 or 2 years newer, and am only held back by it being a rather early exemplar. I did remove the original Cinelli bars a couple of years ago to replace them with IRD Blackbirds... SWEET setup

That Windsor looks like an early 60's model, so maybe some actual vintage value. But it is still a cheap bike, and I'd have no problem rebuilding it with 70's, 80's, or even 90's parts.

It would be sweet with early Campy Record Ergo 8s shifters, and the fixie years wouldn't affect the reuse of it as a bare frame.
