New commuter bike. Need to find some fenders, not because of rain, but because the city of Escondido doesn't know how to adjust their sprinklers. And they run them every morning. Thought we were on water restrictions.

Nice bike. And yes, it always amuses me how the streets around town are always wet in the summer time when it hasn't rained in months. Check out the Planet Bike Cascadia fenders. They are a little longer, especially the flap on the end. I have some on my SS. They work pretty well. You might want the touring version depending on how wide you tires are.

I've got some Honjo aluminum fenders it you're interested. They're beautiful fenders but I prefer the plastic ones that snap onto the seatpost.

So this is what I ride around San Diego. Anywhere between Downtown San Diego to Chula Vista. Idk I'm relatively new have almost 800 miles under my belt. Over the course of around 9 months I spent a few hundred building this thing up little by little. I don't know, what do you guys think? Ignore that little circle.. just extra brake cable I haven't cut

Below (Click on the pics for full size), the fixed gear is my trusty steed.
I bought it with my own money for $370(I know I got ripped off, ohh well sh*t happens.) and have spent around $500 max on repairs and extra parts.
I love it, it is about 1 inches to tall for me but it rides like no other bike I have ever ridden. I would not sell it, ever and would ride it anywhere, anytime, all the time. In fact i prefer it more than my road bike(For now maybe I will get hooked to my road bike later.).
I'm not ones of those hipster teens and don't do tricks or skid(Yes, I ride a front brake after I learned not to skid when going fast the hard way .).
It may not be a eye catching as my roadie but its not whats on the outside its about whats on the inside.
As for my road bike all I can say is:it looks fast and it goes fast .
I really don't ride because I'm scared of getting jumped/jacked so I just race it.
I prefer a track geometry for all day use for training any ways. Road bikes are complicated but I need one to be able to be competitive in races. I doubt I will win a CAT5 crit with a $500 steel bike but a full carbon fiber will. I really don't ride it much, I have only ridden it like about 12 times and raced 3 times. I love the feel though, its so comfy and I can show of when I do ride it. I got it 2 monts ago (I think i got it 2 months ago, I may be wrong because of my short term memory.)for a steal, around $1500 and I think there is no better bike i could of bought with $1500 that is full carbon fiber and has the 105 groupo and a name brand frame .

More pics.

My flat-land speed bike. I'll ride this if it's less than a metric century and the grades are less than 6% or 7%. A 2010 Kestrel RT800-SL, full Dura-Ace.

My hill climbing and century bike. When I'll be doing a lot of hill climbing, the triple comes in handy. Most comfortable bike I have, so good for century rides. A 2010 Trek Madone 4.5, full Ultegra, (except for the wheels, will use either this D/A wheelset or a Vuelta XRP Super Lite wheelset.)

My "training" bike. A 2010 Ridley Cheetah, all Rival except for a Force crank. Haven't ridden yet because the nose of the seat and my precious parts can't occupy the same space at the same time. Need a new seat first. Then, will use for intense-workout medium-length runs to build up my endurance, cadence, and overall rhythm. Might even try an occasional ITT, but I think I'd be embarrassed using this bike. Especially when the results are posted.

My old steed, have had since 1972, a Mondia Super, all Nuovo Record except for a Sugino crank and a SR seat post.
No rear tire because I'm trying to decide what to do with the thing...restore it or dump it. Haven't ridden it since getting the carbon bikes.

The newest bike. A 2009 Pinarello FP6. Trying to decide what groupo to built. Either the D/A from the Kestrel or Ultegra Di2, (when available).

On the golf course in Rancho Vista, Palmdale.

I moved the components from the Kestrel to the Pinarello. Just finished last week. The Pinarello frame rides so much different than the Kestrel. The Kestrel was extremely responsive and quick acting. The Pinarello is a smoother ride, but going over an expansion crack in the asphalt sends vibrations throughout the whole frame. A rolling motion. On the Kestrel, and Trek, hitting a bump just gives a sharp jolt, then it's over. On the Pinarello, it "bounces" multiple times before settling down. Great for smooth roads, but I'm not so sure about rough pavements. Does this have something to do with "stiff" or "flexy" frames?
