Which cable should I use for a Shimano105/ R 7000F front derailleur. (New Install) Existing cable is bad.

Splurge for the 9100 Dura Ace cable set. It's a thing of magic.

Since front der shifting is less cable dependent then rear shifting splurging for high end cable/casing will have a less a noticeable effect then well routed and installed "good" cables have. But it's your $. Of course to some peace of mind is priceless Andy

Shimano Optislick Road Bicycle Shift Cable Set

Nearly as good as what you get with the DuraAce, and oh, so so much cheaper. The coated cables are very good.

How much bike mechanic work are you doing?

I frequently order cables 10 or 25 packs, stainless from E-Bay China, $1 to $2 each. They can take a few weeks to arrive.

If you just need this cable now, just go down to your local bike shop and ask for a good stainless Shimano Compatible shift cable.

Do you also need cable housing?

Shimano also sells cables/housing. Or Jagwire.

If you buy coated cables be sure to scrape the coating off where the cable is clamped by the derailleur's clamp bolt. Otherwise it's likely to slip under load and upset your shifting.

Also remember that cable coating usually won't hold up to the contact with casing end caps or cable stops (just where friction can be great) Andy (who runs uncoated SS cables on all his bikes).

A nice shiny new die drawn SS cable and new housing will get you fixed up. Go to your LBS, shoot the breeze, buy the cable and a few feet of housing, they more than likely will toss in housing and cable ends.
