Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So after another dismal year, I'm working to get back in the saddle. Been mixing up zwift with real rides as weather/time permits. It's been a lot of fun. I recently scored a power meter as well, so that's been interesting. So far, there seems to be a huge difference between real world power and zwift power. I guess that has to do with the gradient effect on zwift defaulting to 50%?

1 toilet = 20 miles, so that's like, 371 miles on the week for me.

Plus my sterling content.

That’s because you’d be shamed by Minnesotans if you whipped out that plastic shovel.

I don't have machinery.

Even doing push ups is a bit awkward because it hurts my knees to kneel--making doing stuff on the floor a bit of a pain.

I haven't had issues since changing drugs last month, but before that my elbow was subject to inflammation, which made even lifting the 12 pound dumbbell no good some days.

Guess this all is how I've got where I am today.

By and large, the '10s were a bad decade for sports.

Ugh. Just noticed that the VW is dripping oil... A day and a half before our trip back, halfway across the country. Will have to get it looked at tomorrow.

no black eyed peas or collard greens. I did have kielbasi and kraut.

For lunch I had beef and barley soup with some leftover risotto added in for good measure.

Sounds like you're really packing it on for the holidays.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's not a true Southerner here, is there?
