Raleigh peeps, which route would you prefer?

Current: both clockwise and CCW is used as an A/B group ride route
Turns: Lights: Roundabouts: Miles of crap pavement:

Modified: eliminate NCSU traffic circles and quite a few turns, still got Dix

Modified: totally different, avoid the death trap left onto Trenton, get rid of the horrible bumpy speed bump Dix area and terrible NCSU traffic for some N Hills neighborhood roads

I ride this area a LOT. I don't have the luxury to head out of town on 4 hour group slogs every weekend. So I get to know my locale.

My vote is #3 . Fewer turns, fewer stop signs to "blow", no horrible pavement and speedbumps in Dix, no crazy NCSU area traffic, no traffic circles.

In the off season I'm going to lobby the leader of this huge group for a route change. There's a few major issues with the original route that nobody seems to want to address.

Any Raleigh area folks have any suggestions for the bottom two routes? I assume they're fixated on Trenton/Reedy Creek as it's a longish area to ride road in town. They're a bit "hill phobic" so I didn't include anything too nuts in the new ones.

We missing any gems? Ideas? I'm open.
