Hayes Dominion A2 Disc Brakes
I recently upgraded the disc brakes on my mountain bike and I chose the new Hayes Dominion A2 (2 piston) brake set with their matched discs. WOW. These things are amazingly good. I've almost had to re-learn braking. My older discs were good but these new pieces are much better. One reason, I went with Hayes is because they use 5.1 glycol fluid instead of mineral oil. The mineral oil systems I've tried are good but I like the better (harder) lever feel associated with the brake fluid systems.

Yeah, the new Hayes are very well reviewed. I was looking for a new brake set, and they were on my shortlist. The only reason I went with something else was that I have short fingers and I read several reviews saying these could not easily be set up for small hands/short fingers.
I went with Magura MT7s, and my relationship with Magura is off to a very rocky start. Have not ridden them yet as it is the dead of winter.

Well, Kapusta, the Hayes lever sets have a lot of adjustment capability and they even have a handset called the "SFL Option" for people with small hands. I guess that stands for "Short Finger Length." I have long fingers so I had to adjust my standard handset levers way out. These are some SUPER POWERFUL BRAKES!

I bought some new brakes recently and these fell off the list quickly because they did not have a flat mount caliper. But they seem very nice.

In the end I got some Tektros that were a lot more... budget conscious. Not nearly as cool as Hayes though. Definitely not as cool as the svelte Hope calipers.
