SRAM 9 speed road cassette compatible with SRAM 9 speed mountain drivetrain?
I have a mountain bike that I'm going to be using exclusively on the road, so I wanted to use a cassette that was a little better suited to road riding. Can I use a SRAM road cassette (11-26) with a SRAM X-7 rear derailleur and X-9 shifters?

Yes, it should work. I've used 11-34, 11-32, 11-26, and 12-25 cassettes all on the same bike (though with a long cage Shimano derailleur). Just make sure your chain isn't too long after you change to the smaller cassette.
