Which Pinarello is this one?

Not an expert on Pinarello, curious which model/year is this one. Asolo? Rear spacing is 126

@mongol777 Check out the cat's here. Part of the fun of owning one!
Really like the paint finsih. Pay attention to the fact there is one set of bottle cage mounts.

Based on the BB bridge and SL tubing I would say Treviso. If T-Mar chimes in take what he says to the bank. You will like the ride.

@T-Mar, @P!N20, @jiangshi, and a number of others are very knowledgeable and have been of great help both in parts and information.

“Treviso” confuses a lot of people. Pins were/are made in Treviso so any of them may say Treviso somewhere, often on the BB shell. That’s not necessarily referring to the Treviso model, which applied to different grades of bike over the years.

All I’ll venture to say is that this bike has all the field marks of a good Pin, even if not a Montello (the best.). Built entirely with Columbus SL, including fork and stays, the GPT panto’d into the stay caps and fork crown, Cr plating on the drive-side chain stay. The Pinarello-branded dropouts are fine, even my Montello has them. (Older ones used Campag.). There are none of the compromises made on entry-level frames to save cost. It’s the real deal.

Very nice! Even has the "ghost decals", a Pinarello trademark...

Interesting that the dropouts are stamped Pinarello, but it only has a single bottle mount. I thought the Pinarello dropouts were ~'87 onwards, but by then I would have thought dual bottle mounts would have been standard. You'd also expect to see a pump peg on the back of the head tube for the '87 models. I wonder if it has a button on the seat stay?

It would be interesting to see if the serial number puts it in the '85 or '87 models.

My overall feeling is it's an '87 Treviso, but might be a bit earlier.

Single bottle cage, metal head badge (not a decal), later style tubing decal, braze-on FD mount, sloping fork crown, and Pinarello drop-outs. A back-to-the-future specimen?

The Record was SL.
My Catena Lusso is Matrix, so I know it's not that.
I had a Montello and it's sure not that.
That's all I know.

Thank youi everyone for your input. Always nice to know a bit about the frame but sometime it is hard to pin down exact year/model. I do like the color and "beausage", it is my size and I always wanted a Pin. Sent my offer to the seller, would be happy if he accepts. If not - search must go on :-).

The Columbus frame sticker (if original) refers to a later date than 1987. The 1988 Pinarello catalog still shows the old styl sticker. In '89 it's already new. In the ’88 catalog, the Treviso has only one bottle holder design and the chrome plating is the same. Unfortunately, the pump peg is not visible because it is a very poor quality copy. Based on these, I feel the 1988 production is realistic, I say, if the Columbus sticker is original.

Where can one find this '88 catalog?

In the image above the head badge looks to be the stripy decal, not the riveted badge like the OP's (purchase pending.)

I also noticed the Treviso in '90* catalog only has one bottle mount, so maybe '85 wasn't the end of the single bottle mount. I'm sticking with '87!

Damn you Pinarello, must you always confuse us!?

* 1990 was a best guess

Could be a repaint, with a new Columbus decal? (I have an old Tomassini, repainted years before I got it, but the SL decal, old style, says what I think is “refinished” in Italian.) But the the putative repainter here would have had to have gone to the trouble of recreating the factory “quick-release” decals we have come to love...

Existing stock of riveted metal head badges being used up before switching all production to decals?

Catalogue scans on Bulgier mention that complete bikes in early 80s were sold with “frame-fit” Silca pumps, obviating need for pump pegs.

Whatever, it’s a nice frame and the OP will be happy with it. Hope he is successful.

At least it wasn’t a “Putin-esque” painter. Would want to wear heavy gloves and a Hazmat suit...

Back on topic, post-‘84 frames would have shown the (Soviet-free) Olympic road race victory decal (Alexi Grewal), or at least a trace remaining.
