Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It was the same. And they've scheduled the Eastern games to be sure the Lakers are rested and the East team is not. Not that either of those teams would present any competition

How so? They close off the light hardcore. They’re also quieter than blinds. And they’re durable. And look awesome.

The house is an 80s contemporary, they just would not look right. I love them generally.

If the Earth stopped rotating, half the globe would be night. If I were on that half, I don't think I'd ride much.

Metal Venetian blinds stay bent if they get bent. But if you don't bend them, they'll outlast the ropes and straps. The house I grew up in had Venetian blinds when we moved in in 1962 that had probably been there for decades, and are still there 58 years later.

They'd give an eclectic look to the sliding glass doors.

Hey, so you know how sometimes when you absentmindedly take a swig of something like coffee, it hits the back of your throat just wrong, and triggers you to cough, and you have to spit it back into your mug so you don't spray it all over?

Yeah, that doesn't work so well with a lidded travel mug with a little tiny opening.

I just sprayed my office with coffee. Luckily I drink it black.

Whoa. Nice word!

Did you play Scrabble last night?

Honestly, that's one I have never seen, and I'm no spring chicken. Well done.

It actually rotates around the barycenter (LAJ - two-fer?) of the Earth-sun system. Which is inside the sun, yes, but not at the center, and not the same thing.

Oh, it got worse. The drugstore wasn't open before I set out yesterday morning, so I couldn't grab any antihistamines. It wasn't problematic on the ride (and it was a good ride, complete with gravely stream crossings), but it flared up afterwards. The sting was just above the Adam's apple, and now the itchy, inflamed area extends to the upper sternum.

Unlike my hip, it's a really awkward place to ice, and it hasn't been terribly effective. In the shower last night, though, I found that heat made the itch subside, so I've been hitting it with a hot compress when it gets to be too much; I was pleasantly surprised to find that a couple rounds of heat made me comfortable enough to get to sleep without trouble.

I wish wish wish I were an NFL player with a big Twitter following - I'd tweet that on a Tuesday (lowercase "e" earth...). Then, when asked publicly, I'd ask them how they could possibly insult the groundskeepers who work so hard to keep the earth flat on the field. Look at it! Obviously that is flat earth. Now the planet "Earth" on the other hand, pretty round.
