I believe the stoker did have to be fed once or twice a day depending on the temp, but I don't remember what that part looked like. I was pretty young at the time. Coal was delivered from a truck, down a chute, through a window, to a huge bin in the cellar.

Much of the time when I was growing up we had a wood stove. I didn't chainsaw much, but I did my share of splitting. #MusclePower

My lower back pull problem seems to have mostly gone away, but now I have a mystery ailment in my right butt cheek. Not even sure if it's the joint or a deep muscle. It's not like my normal hip inflammation.
Can't tell if it is a problem on the bicycle until I try it.

They still have smoking in bars in Wyoming. I thought that was awesome, the way things were meant to be. There were a couple of smoke-free brew pubs in Rock Springs for health nuts

I think that it's a little bit of A and a little bit of B. We think that they put latex on top of an oil-based paint without a primer (or with a ****ty primer) between; the two layers just don't like each other. I think that putting another layer over the top, without addressing the lack of bond between those two layers, is just going mean thicker peels in the future. But again, I don't want any part of this if we're serious about moving next year.

Ours, too. To be honest, I was pretty young when we converted to natural gas but I don’t remember anyone ever shoveling. I remember the conveyor coming out of the bin, though.

I also remember back in the winter of 76/77, when I was in college, we had one of those energy crises that hit then, combined with one of the coldest winters on record. The Administration tried to save money/energy by turning off the heat in the classroom buildings overnight. That doesn't work well with hot water heat. The old, poorly insulated buildings got real cold - like about 50 degrees - and radiators take FOREVER to reheat a cold space. I think that initiative lasted a day, after we all showed up for our 8:00 classes - I arrived, took off my parka, sat down, put my parka back on. Put my gloves back on..... The prof came in, looked around at us shivering, and canceled class.
