Not sure about the purpose of this thread but it looks like it is a place to "announce" a new ride or a modified ride.
I just can't get over the red on my latest ride, a late 1980's De Rosa Professional. Two other BFr's have owned this frame set before me. This is my version. The exhausting journal of the build can be found here.
My first shake down ride was on Sunday 7/6. I have taken it out 6 times with about 81 miles total. It is great with no adjustments needed. Well the saddle was changed to a Brooks Swallow. Built with a combination of 10V parts, it is nearly all Campagnolo except for the post and the usual. Even have Campagnolo cable set. I rebuilt the Ergo's and made sure everything was lubed and adjusted.
Still excited with the bike so want to post pics everywhere. Here we go again:

The Drive Side is Within
I wanted to post our mid eighties rigs here before ending my post tour pic spamming.
The Alyeska was one step below the 650b Kodiak and rides so nicely. It just seems to fly forward when loaded. The muddy C and O a few years ago was a bit much for it, but it is a dream on the road or on good gravel.

Off grid off road
Apart from a few mountain bikes, there is always room for some local vintage steel for the asphalt.

I recently upgrade the groupset on my 1988 Gitane Exploit (not 100% sure about the year or model). It was running Campy Chorus. It's now running Campy Centaur.

Viner Special Touring finished
I was paging back through this thread and realized that I never posted my Viner Special Touring build. Here it is:
I still need to dial it in; the Dura-Ace derailleur is a bit finicky. I think I'll pop a couple links out of the chain. That should tighten it up and get it under control. At 22.5 lbs, it's the lightest bike I own. I'm planning to put some quality miles on it this weekend.

I drove for 9 hours, round-trip this weekend to pick up this:
...from a medical professor in Iowa City. It has all of its original equipment, including 37 year-old knobby tires that still have some life left in them.
I've ridden 20 miles on these with no issues at all. The drivetrain is Suntour Mountech, complete with Power Ratchet friction-only thumb shifters and a 5-speed freewheel that goes "crunch, grind, clunk" whenever you shift gears.
That's gonna go into a bag, sealed up, and put in a drawer for safe-keeping. I've got a mid-80s Deore XT setup, indexed, that I'm going to install for everyday riding.
Breakfast stop, Sunday morning. This bike looks like it has come a long way on dirt roads to get there, doesn't it? Patina Perfection. I'll post again when I'm done with my mods.

Anyone know anything about Columbus Bikes?
Got this bike to tide me over until i build the Colnago Master Olympic I just bought that came with a random assortment of components that all do not work together or with the frame.....
This bike was from a collector that was clearing out space from his garage, he said he bought it from a neighbour that had it since new and never rode it. I am guessing it is early 90's, it is an aluminum frame with smoothed welds and a fairly low end 8 speed Campagnolo groupset, but it seriously rides like it is new and the tires look old, but have no aging or wear on them at all.
The pedals and saddle will be the first things to change.
And my Colnago Master Olympic parts bin special....... The frame is a bit rough, but the wheelset is made by Zipp and has a 10 speed ultra cassette on it, so I am thinking to put a fairly modern 10 speed Campagnolo carbon groupset on it (with a JTEK Shiftmate adapter of course) for a neo-retro ratty build.

Minerva Pinta 1492, looks to be made in the Nederlands.

Actually kind of a beater....
Sometimes you can sort of feel how a bike will ride. This one feels nimble. It’s a messy mix, nothing new or not worn a bit.
Unk year Guerciotti 54 cm, likely TSD.
Cinelli bars, 3TTT stem, BL401 levers.
Fizik wrap on its last legs
Sakae seat post, Prologo X-10 saddle
DA 7900 DT shifters, FSA crankset
Octalink BB, 105 RD and FD
DA 7700 calipers, Ultegra 6600 hubs
Mavic tubular rims. Some spare tires.
Found some Clark’s cables and housing.
Coupla cages that seem to match.
Sometimes you just need a bike that can take it.
