PBW Trekking bike in Portland <$1000

Higher-end, but possibly a great deal?

Asking price is $980

https://portland.craigslist.org/clc/bik/386823735.html

"PBW folding (20" wheels) bicycle. Hand made Peregrine Bike Works folding bicycle 41" wheel base with Sram dual drive, Cane Creek shock absorber and brakes, Terry Liberator saddle, 20" wheels.

see for more specs https://www.pbwbikes.com/product_info...products_id/32

Modified with a Nitto bar, MKS pedals, and 1.5x20" Tioga Comp Pool slick tires. Fits fairly wide range of riders depending on bar set up from about 5'8" to 6'2". Rides better than a Brompton and folds better than a Bike Friday."

A friend of mine has that exact same bike but in much worse condition. It has a Sachs Duomatic kick-back 2-speed hub which still works fine. This bike is advertised as a single speed, but I wonder if it has the Duomatic like my friend's and the seller just doesn't know it. The hub does look like the Duomatic as far as I can tell.

Cyqlist, how does your friends bike ride? I'm tempted to bid on this one. Really tempted, even though I have a Tikit on order.

I'm selling a pair of 20" Velocity Thracian Spartacus series wheels. The front wheel is threaded for DISC brakes, rear is rim brakes. They have only about 500 miles on them and are in great shape.
