The most positive improvement with the carbon fork, for me, is the lighter front end. The bike is much quicker and more responsive.

has anyone here switched out their trigger sport tires for the Schwalbe marathon supremes?
I have no doubt they will roll easier and grip better on the pavement, but I'm wondering about flat protection.
I HATE FLATS. and will sacrifice speed to avoid them.

...my current 2015 Comp still has the Triggers and the last one, a 2013 Sport Disc, ran on them for as long as I had it. I ridden on all types of surfaces, hit lots of roots, holes and other objects and have never experienced a single flat. Specialized even has a variant now that is designated for use for gravel grinding, so they must have some faith in them. As for me, I have no intention on making a switch, they've been one of the best bike tires I've had...

Alrighty then. Two votes for "It ain't broke so don't fix it" LOL
Still asking the question though. I do believe there are some forum members who did switch to the marathons

I think you would get a wider set of opinions on how well the Schwalbe marathon supremes resist flats in one of the touring related subforums. Some there swear by them. I switched to Schwalbe because I heard horror stories about triggers going flat, but members here don't seem to have a problem. I currently have Schwalbe Marathon Almotions on mine, and haven't had a flat in 500 miles. I don't think I've run over anything that could cause a flat in any quality tire, however.

Long time reader, first time poster. Wife and I upgraded to new 2016 Crosstrail Expert Disc bikes over the weekend. Put on a little over 40 miles this weekend and LOVE THEM!

Hey was wondering, how much do the weight out of the box. I am thinking for my next one I want to get the bike with the M4 frame instead. Might as well spend the slight extra for better frame and fork.

Found what they have on the build sheet. 28lbs 1oz, but not sure if that is before the accessories or not. Will have to find a scale when I get home.

Done, and done.
Ordered the Marathon supremes in 35c.
Will post pics with all my changes listed. I'm pretty sure this is the last upgrade, at least for a while ...LOL

My next upgrade will be tires. While I like the trigger sport tires, I have had 1 flat due to a nail. Which I blame the portion of my neighborhood with homes being built.
But I have been going back and forth from various tires from Michelin, Schwalbe and even some of Specialized tires specifically thinking of these: Specialized Bicycle Components
I'm planning on buying a set of tires for the road like above and another set for trail usage.

I've had to toy with the rear derailleur cable adjustment for the first time, about 1/2 turn tighter. It shifts to the smaller cassette rings smoother now. I imagine thats just a bit of cable stretch.

Done! Added Schwalbe Marathon supreme tires to my Specialized Bicycles 2016 Crosstrail comp disc. Saddle is Serfas RX, stem is sunlite adjustable, grips are ergon GP4, cygolite metro 550 with hotshot 2w in rear, bottle cage and saddle bag by velo champion final touch are the blue spoke reflectors for all the night riding I do. I am peacefully awaiting my evening ride. Life is good. Very, very good

tires working out well. Definitely noticed an improvement in speed. Hard to quantify after only one ride but it was noticeable.
The real outstanding feature IMHO however was the improved cornering ability. There are a lot of 'roundabouts' where I live. You may call them
'traffic circles. Our neighborhoods are full of them. Was very impressed with the stickiness of the tires going around these fun features with speed.

Curious. What pressure do you pump your tires up to?
I usually go to 5 lbs under max, but I'm wondering what other xtrail owners do

Has anyone replaced the seatpost?
I find the bike to be pretty comfortable, but every once in a while I hit a decent sized bump.
The front forks (If engaged) absorb the impact well, but if I didn't see it coming and get my butt out of the seat in time
I can get a bit of a jolt.
So I'm wondering if anyone got a carbon seatpost or perhaps a suspension seatpost.
