Howdy
Greetings from the Pacific Northwest. Last week I purchased my first road bike... I bought a Specialized Secteur Comp from the LBS. Its definitely a whole new world! I have only been on two rides so far, but am absolutely loving it... Well everything except the ball sack discomfort.
Looking forward to progressing as a rider, planning on participating in my first Sprint Tri this summer!

Hello and welcome to the addiction!
Regarding your discomfort, you might have to play around a bit with saddle settings, maybe seat post and even handlebar/stem. Check in the Road Cycling forum and ask specific questions there.
