My Introduction

Hi folks! This 60-year old just moved back to the US from Brazil. I reduced my running about ten months ago and left off completely for about four months because of a sore knee. The Dr. said the knee will be a chronic problem (Chondromalasia) and there is not much I can do to help or hurt except get injected every 9 months or so. I don't like shots or medicine so I will live with the discomfort unless it gets painful.

So back to fitness activity. I am returning to road biking after some time off and am alternating with gym time and running. I ride a LeMond Tourmalet, which has been a great bike for me. I found Bike Forums while looking for some new shorts and think the forum will be really helpful as I begin to bike more

Welcome jbenzon. Have you talked to sports med doc about the knee? My sports med doc fixed my knee a few years ago and said I could ride till I was 100.

Stop by the 50+ forum and say hello to the old farts. I'm one of them. I'm nearly 66.

Welcome to the forum. I think the riding will be beneficial as it's surely less stressful on your joints than running. Build up your strength slowly and hopefully you'll have many more years of cycling ahead of you!
