Was great to meet you. Fun day hanging out with folks from the forums ( curbtender and obrentharris ) and CR list. I sold a frame, a couple sets of wheels, some cranks and pedals and some books. Came home with a NIB bike rack for the car, some books, a couple bar/stem combos, etc, and other odds and ends. I spent less than I made, so a good day!

I will just add here that the Bikex.org bike swap was a huge success in September. We are blessed with a huge parking lot and a great location just off highway 101 in Palo Alto. We will definately be doing it again, hopefully in the spring.

Here's one upcoming event that includes a swap, plus more like a vintage show, a ride and more.
It's a ways in the future (Oct. 2024) and not precisely in the Bay Area but close (Davis, CA) so mark your new '24 calendars and wait for it.
Here's what's known so far, I'll try to update when more details are published via the CR List:

Classic Rendezvous West - Vintage Bike Show - Saturday 19th October 2024.

Here are the basics on the bike show, ride and swap:

Location: The Bicycling Hall of Fame in Davis, CA
*Admission/Display to the bike show is $10 to offset facility rental
expenses
*Vintage bike ride 9:30-11:30 Saturday
*Swap opens after 9:00 Saturday (this is outside the patio area)
*Vintage bike show opens at 12:00 on the main floor
* Things wrap up at around 4:00

I think there will be enough display area for about 35-40 bikes, if there
are more folks that want to display, we will figure it out. There will be
parking within two blocks and there is a farmer's market next to the
facilities for lunch. More details to come on how to sign up for display,
swap etc.

(sponsored by, and event promoter is)

Hello, Any pictures to share from the swap or hauls that were purchased? It would be great to see the swaps from Nor Cal.
Best, Ben

Will definitely be there for this! Big thanks to cinelliguy and Sactown_Albert for putting it together.

I hope that the swap meet and the ride don't ultimately conflict with each other. I'd love to both have a table at the swap and also take part in the ride. But, I'll be there one way or the other!

Yes, thanks, I saw the earlier posts and wanted to see a few of pics of the latest ones.... not much going on in L.A. so a bit envious of all that is going on in other places.

Well, no address until Friday at 5:00 am. Not a swap but a local estate sale of a collector. Looks like he had good taste...
https://www.estatesales.net/CA/Orinda/94563/3944178

From the ad...
Many bicycles, bike parts, and tools! Cannondale Road Tandem, Della Santa Corsa Speciale, Santa Cruz electric mountain bike, Allegro, HIllborne, Titus Loco-Moto, and vintage Frejus Torino.

Yeah, super well-equipped kitchen, lots of tools and a 58cm Della Santa just for starters.

Some moto stuff as well, ...but not the bike.

am I missing something, or have vintage Porsches and VWs just morphed into bicycles?
Even as a life-long native Californian I still had to look up Valley Center (there's a LOT of "Valleys") It's due East of Carlsbad, North of San Diego

The Silicon Valley Bicycle Exchange is having a big bike sale iin Palo Alto on May 4th. There will be tons of great bikes at great prices.

Here is a link to the anouncement.

Some of my restorations and customs will be on sale including the famous Kilo TT tiger stripe bike and the Calvin and Hobbes tribute bike(both super high end single speeds )

Hope some of you will check it out.

UPDATE

The sale on May 4th is going to be mainly for misc. parts. there may be some bikes out in the parking lot and there are many more inside for sale so still going to be worth attending if just to see our awsome site and talk to our volunteers. If you were wanting to buy the tiger stripe Kilo TT, sorry, we just sold it sold for $300. which was an absolute steel. The frame alone was worth that, the crank was also very valuable, not to mention the wheels and tires etc. I talked to the buyer and he was grinning from ear to ear.
