Maybe I will try a soft case but not for the reasons you give. The hard case takes up a lot of space. Which soft case do you have?

I have Vincita B132H that is discussed in this thread. They now have a slightly more expensive B132HX that can be mounted on the front block when folded. I have no experience with the latter.

Yes!

On my 2nd airplane trip with the Dimpa bag solution. So far so good! The key is gate check and, with Alaska, happy handlers.

I’m not interested in hard or soft cases - for now....time will tell! Thanks all.
