For men during mass start road races, generally they just excuse themselves from the middle of the peloton and hang it off to the side while they coast, or a team mate pushes them to keep them moving.
I don't know how the elite women do it.

Ouch! A catheter is not exactly pain free. It's taking "No pain, no gain" a little too far IMHO.

From personal experience I can verify that bicycling with Mr. Foley is not a performance enhancer like using EPO. Sure thing that there's always a drain but it is also accompanied by some pain.

I don't think you'd want to ride with a bag of urine attached to your leg, though.

One cycling culture difference I noticed between the U.S. and QP when I did a week long supported tour up there is that if guys had to go in the middle of nowhere they simply walked a bit into the grass and turned their backs but did not go into the woods. Women would cheer them on and wave as they passed.

I'm not even going to tell my catheter story from when I had my heart surgery.

Did a sprint triathlon once and during the run I just simply could not hold it any longer and just went in my pants. I should say though that it was pouring rain. Otherwise I wouldn't have done it.

This is why I don't do triathlons. Urine trouble the moment you get in the water.

Just get some depends, then you can remove the chamois from your shorts. Might result in an aero reduction, during a long race though.
