Is this pic of the FD-9070 a lie?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

That's an optimistic pre-production render, right, not some little-known revision that halved the size of the servo... the rivet in the cage is different too.

Was shopping for one of these, and I was like, wait a minute...

That's not a real thing. Picture doesn't match the product.

The first picture is missing things that are in the second.

I don't think the first picture is real.

Shimano wouldn't use the same number for those two things (which are clearly not the same).

The ad I linked to claims it's a FD-9070 for sale.

It looks more like a FD-9070 than any other FD... I say it's clearly a version of the Di2 FD belonging to the 9000 group, either an early CGI mock-up or a later revision, but it's not a revision since the FD-R9150 is pretty much the same size as the FD-9050.

So the pic is a digital mirage, and selling FD-9070s with it is dodgy business.

Someone might go, oh hey, there's a smaller version! I'll cough up $600 instead of $400 for that! Wonder how many have been sucked in...

Or, just maybe, since it's Dura-Ace, Shimano might've bust a gut to miniaturise it, but that was too exxy for even Dura-Ace. If so, I would actually be pretty damn tempted, even though I already bought one...

But nah, the ad doesn't call it a 9071 and make a big deal about it. The pic is a lie!
