I have hybrid bicycle off road eddition with 1.6 inch Schwalbe Tyrago Tires. They are no longer produced however and now i search for new ones since these are pretty wear out.
Their level 3 guard against punchture is non existent so i search level 4 or 5 now.

Yes, they're good. They have a reasonable puncture protection layer and they have a good thick tread. They're also very reasonably priced. I had a set of them on my daughter's 20" bike when she was younger and they served well in that application.

I just installed a set of Conti GP 4 Season 700x32 on the FX. It originally came with 32mm tires but I had been riding Conti GP 4000sii 28mm tires for some time because I liked their performance and feel but I wanted to go back to something a little wider, puncture resistant and versatile. I'm actually taking them out for their first ride this morning.

I mainly ride 32c Gatorskins as all arounders. Good balance and hold up to gravel rail trails as well. Not fond of the hardshells ride quality.
Also I wouldn't be opposed to Schwalbe Little Big Ben's in that application. 700x40c

I have been riding on Marathons. I ride strictly rail trails, with some of those trails being asphalt. Just bought a Trek Verve that comes with the Bontrager 700x45 tires. Rode the bike 40 miles, and I hated the tires. Put 700x38 marathons on it, and I couldn't believe the difference in how the bike rode. Just felt faster and lighter. I really didn't notice any less of a comfortable ride with the 38s on. So yes tires do make a difference.

Don't know why Trek puts those tires on the Verve. They are big and clunky. I tried selling both tires a while ago on Facebook Market place for $30, and didn't get one person ask or offer anything less. Guess I'll reduce the price and see if anyone wants them. I know I'll never run them again.

You can get tires that have good puncture protection and also ride well (with reasonable weight), but they are more expensive.

on my main ride - a 2015 trek fx 7.4 - i went from the stock 700x38mm (IIRC) tire to a bontrager hardcase 700x25mm tire - the thinnest i could go on my stock wheelset. my neighborhood has perfect roads and the thicker tires were really busting my knees. now that i switched to a much thinner tire, the bike feels like a road bike in terms of acceleration and i find it just as smooth as the thicker tires due to the nice streets in my area. overall avg speed went up and my knees are not as fatigued/killed with these new tires.

Haven’t even gotten my bike together yet(waiting on handlebars), but I did order a pair of 700x28mm Conti Grand Prix 4-seasons. Reviews are good so I’m hopeful.

Recently replaced them with a pair of 700x28 Schwalbe Marathons, which I think roll a bit better but their puncture protection compared to the Specialized is yet to be determined.

I swapped the stock Giant tires for a pair of Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour 700x40c, very happy with them.

Upgraded the tires on my Cannondale Quick 1 yesterday. Removed the Schwalbe Spicer K-Guards in 700x30c size after approximately 2,000 miles. Replaced them with Schwalbe Marathon Tour GT in 700x35c size. Chose a slight larger tire for a better ride on the local streets. I’m happy after a quick ride around my neighborhood.

About 75 miles ago I put a pair of Continental GP 4 Seasons in 700x32 on the Trek 7.4 FX. They replaced some Continental GP 4000sII in 700x28. They are heavier and feel a little stiffer, but they seem to be breaking in nicely. I still prefer more of a performance road tire. Most of my riding is on well maintained roads and paths so an overly sturdy tire really isn't necessary.

The payback for the weight and "dead" feel to the ride is (likely) very good puncture protection. Those H5 tires have a pretty thick puncture protection layer under the tread. So they SHOULD be fairly problem free (other than keeping air in them). That's the primary reason Trek fits them (well, that and the low manufacturing price).
You can get tires that have good puncture protection and also ride well (with reasonable weight), but they are more expensive.

Tire alternatives? There are many -- too many to list in one post. I'd probably start with some of the more common tire brands (like Continental or Schwalbe) and go from there. I think the Verve has 45-622 tires (often referred to as "700x45" or something similar). You'll can look through the city, hybrid, or touring tire areas of Continental's and Schwalbe's websites to see what they offer. If you like the idea of strong puncture protection, then consider a tire like the Continental Ride Tour or something from Schwalbe's Marathon line. If you'd rather a lighter tire that doesn't offer the super robust puncture protection, then consider something like the Continental Speed Ride or Schwalbe Little Big Ben. There are many, many quality tire brands out there, but you'll probably find something to your liking by at least starting with those two companies.

Switched mine over to Schwalbe Marathon Plus (700x35c) a couple weeks ago because I'm not doing much unpaved riding with it right now. They put up a fight to get on but I've been very happy with them now that they're installed.

I actually popped a bead while out on a ride when I mistakenly overinflated the front. I had to deflate, and then get it back on the rim and inflate with a micro-pump on the side of the road. It seemed to go back on the rim easier the "second" time...
