I think I want to try that look on my Fuji. The only one I've seen is the Vittoria Open Corsa. Looks like a nice tire. Kinda pricey, and reviews say they wear pretty quick.

I'm not helpful, and I have no tire suggestions. BORA-Argon is running gumwalls on their bikes in the tour, so I'm sure there are good ones, but I don't know what they're running. Do post pictures when you're done, though!

When I saw the thread title, I was going to say Vittoria Open Corsa. They are pricey, and not terribly durable. But they ried great, as close to tubulars as you can get in a clincher, and look great, if you're going for old school.

Not sure about gumwalls, but you can buy the following reasonably long-wearing tires with tan sidewalls for decent prices:
- Panaracer Pasela PTs
- Clement Strada LLG 120s
- Continental Grand Prix Classic
- Torelli (several models)
- Veloflex (several models)
- Rivendell (several models)
- Compass and Grand Bois (several models)
The Compass/Grand Bois tires (and Rivendell) are not cheap ($55-60+) but supposedly roll very nicely.

New Specialized Turbo Cotton is supposed to be badass.
Gommitalia Targa and Calipso models are around in gumwall, too, though I think the newest ones went Ivory sidewall. I saw Calipso Ks on sale somewhere just the other day, probably Excel.
EDIT: Yep, but 22s only. Gommitalia Targa K Tire - Tires - Clincher - Excel Sports

my favorite tire of ever is a pasela pt 32c
gumwall, flat protection, and id say they last around 5000 miles, and i dont find them to be "slow"
you can get them folding and sans bonus puncture protection (PT) options to save some weight if you care about that
they also come in black

I have nothing to add regarding gumwall tires. Just wanted to say that this bicycle is beautiful. Can I get a copy? Thanks!

I mention that because I am starting to feel like I am doing that lately with Panaracer Paselas. They come in several configurations (flat resistant, non-flat resistant, folding, and wire bead, skin wall, black wall), and just about any size you could need (700X23 - 37, 26X1.25 - 1.75, 27X1.0 - 1.25, 650c).

actually you were very helpful. I've been watching the tour, and did see a few gumwall tires out there, but just assumed they were tubulars. I looked up Bora argon's team bike setup and they're running Corsa CXs...probably get a new pair daily, though...lol.

they most likely are tubs, ive heard good things about corsa's though
also polar opposite reviews in regards to durability, "tissue paper thin" "dont last long" "race day only tire" vs. "no problems with flats at all" "less flats than paselas"
@thewilson could go on for days about how many flats he got with paselas tho, while ill tell you theyre the most bombproof tire ive had. i could count on one hand the flats ive had with them
