Bicycle Event for Winter Olympics

Apparently bicycles were everywhere at Sochi, but there were no bicycle events.

What bicycle related events would you like to see at future Winter Olympics?

Apparently, UCI is pushing for a cyclo-cross event.

Are there other events that might be included? Somehow I have an image of someone going down a ski jump on their bike, or a tight velodrome-like course on ice with studded tires. What ideas do you have? Get creative.

Personally, I don't care for the idea of events that require judges to judge people on how pretty they did something. In keeping with the winter Olympics theme, probably a fat-tired bike race would work as well as anything.

Ok for cyclo-cross but in above knees snow and no fat bikes allowed. Better having medics nearby as it is pretty harsh on the body.

No style points for you!

Seriously though, if winter Olympics were held in appropriately wintry locales (not Sochi) , then IMO, appropriate events would include ice racing.

Let's not forgot the very first 4 man bobsled team at the very first Olympic games in 700BC. Papakonstantinou, Vassiliadis, Georgiades, & Argyros set a blazing time down Mount Olympus.

The problem with cyclocross is that for a sport to qualify for the Winter Olympics, it must require ice or snow. CX doesn't require them, so it never will make the cut.

Good one!

I think if you can bicycle race on ice, then bicycle polo should be a no brainer! On ice that is!

I've played bike polo in the snow. It was fun,in a Jackass/CKY kind of way.
