Northwest Tandem Rally - Video
The Northwest Tandem Rally was held July 4-6 in Bellingham Washington. Here is a link to a Youtube video of the mass start and a few clips while riding the routes. A special thanks to the sponsors and volunteers for their efforts. It was an amazing tandem event.

We saw Ritterview there. Figured it was him from his Los Gatos bike plate. Had to chase them down to talk, then let them go. We rode to Artist Point on Friday with 3 local tandems. There was talk here about other folks doing that ride, but didn't see anyone else. Pity, because it's a classic NW ride. This is us on the last switchback before Artist Point.

Sorry we missed it... badly busted arm = no riding until Sept. We did drive to the Sunday lunch in Fairhaven. nice to see so many of our friends there enjoying the excellent weather. Cool you made the ride.

Thanks for sharing the video. Although, I am not quite sure I want to re-live that long city of Bellingham proclamation at the start. We are in the video on the extreme right at the starting line. That was a very nice rally in a perfect location with great tandem people.
DrMarkR,
I think I saw your streaks of red white and blue buzzing pass of us a few times. Never could catch up to talk though (my wife was in full relaxing vacation mode).
CFB,
We did end up at Artist Point on Thursday. But, we had too many glasses at Mt Baker Winery on the way up and ended up hiking the Chain Lake/Lost Goose trails instead.
2cicle,
Sorry we missed you at Fairhaven. We did finish the ride at noon but didn't want to wait for the late lunch as we had soccer tickets in Vancouver.

Yeah, Mrs Ritterview and I made this our first air trip with a tandem. Was lots of fun. Our pics are here. We can be seen in the front row to the right in the video, it helps if you go for the highest resolution.

Yes, on Sunday smoke from Canadian fires descended upon Bellingham, and we must have inhaled a lot.
Here's a pic from our AirBnB apt overlooking the water with lots of smoke. That's our BikePro Tandem case friendly Lincoln MKT we rented from Avis.
By high resolution I refer to the YouTube settings, that are helpful if any individual teams are to be identified.
