It's even cooler when the chrome is abraded right off of your irreplaceable vintage hub body! core!

Not only do they look awesome, they have 50% less frontal area than competing wheels, are faster than tri-spoke wheels and stable in crosswinds. And you can ride them everyday!*

*Specialized's marketing works way, WAY, too well on me.

(i.e. the preceding post was nearly verbatim from Specialized's magazine ad, and the poster has no first-hand experience with those wheels. They do look neat though!)

The wheels on the Specialized are made by Roval, a company with a long, long history in the sport. Going price seems to be a bit over two grand. https://actionwheels.com/itemdetails....gId=39&id=3932

Interestingly enough, Roval also makes several different wheelsets with the largest flange hubs I have seen in the last couple of decades. https://actionwheels.com/itemdetails....gId=39&id=3595

Dunno if they are available separately, nor if they are available in track configuration, but there you go.

damn.... Well, screw the vintage campy, these are the new dream wheels for the mid 80's pinarello steel roadie I have in mind: https://www.wiggle.co.uk/images/spec%...heel%20set.jpg

Now where can I find a low profile set of rims in 20h and 24h? Oh forget it...

Both the hubsets you've shown look similar to Airlite but I don't think either of them are. Check the blue ones on this page. They were the normal ones -
