Can we talk about bikes again?
Jeez what a mess!

So whats new on your bike today?

For me, im sad. I have to drive to school/work today because i have a huge print box to take with me.
The weather is perfect. Its 65 degrees and sunny and i have to drive a car.

you mean like about those nice tommasini/gorilla track bikes?

no, seriously. I recently ordered a pair Soma Double Straps and picked them up from the post office today. Can't wait to ride with them and see if they feel any better than normal single straps I've running until now.

I went to the velodrome on sunday for the first time since Labor Day. It was windy and cold. I'm pretty out of shape, but fortunately so was everyone else (for the most part).

i got a trek soho s recently, at a low low low price ("family discount"). i'm STOKED about building it up into a fixed gear grocery bike. going with parts i have on hand to build it up the way i want (moustache bars, short stem, 0 setback seatpost, fenders), and am really excited.
unfortunately, i promised to do a detailed review of the bike, as there's NO detailed information or reviews on the bike at all anywhere-- not even on trek's site (i got more info from a fellow bike forums member than from trek about components, et al). this means i have to ride it stock for a week, which isn't as bad as i initially thought. the week ends on friday. going to do a pretty nice writeup of the bike stock, what i like/dislike, and the subsequent "upgrades" (with mad pics).

i feel really nerdy for admitting it, but i'm looking forward to it like it's christmas.

the more i ride it, though, the more i appreciate what it is; definitely what it's going to be. as a bonus, it has a flip flop hub w/ freewheel. i ride it fixed, but if i have a friend over from out of town who doesn't ride fixed i now have an extra bike they can rock.

ps, my bob jackson is kinda depressed.

I have a line on a French track bike but the seller thinks that the rear spacing is 115mm, any ideas on why that would be?

Other than that, nothing new for me. I haven't been riding fixed much, mostly SS as it is the bike with fenders. Damn, this has been a really snowy winter

Today is day 2 of my moustache bar introduction on my single roadie. I need to find a shorter stem...... But otherwise I think I like them. Angle is everything. On the first ride I hated them and was planning on where to get more bar tape to put the drops on. A small angle change and the trip home was pretty good. Another angle change and I quite like them from this morning.

i get to see my bikes for the first time in a week, i am flying home today, i have an eight hour flight. before i left, i had just mounted a pair of specialized mondo elite road tires on my allez i cant wait to ride it, and my fixed gear will be getting a new front wheel once i move to atl, hopefully this weekend.

I am thinking of a spinergy front or a spatacus front.
or another mavic open pro to match the rear

I drove to my mother's house for spring break, which is about 90 miles south of where I attend college. What blows is I forgot my pump back at school, and its about 3 degrees colder down here... The question is why did I leave again?

Plus riding here blows, just big suburbia neighborhoods. wahoo!

We just got a foot and a half of snow in 36 hours. Supposedly the worst storm since 78... whatever. Haven't been on my bikes much. Everyones car was snowed into place and being slowly buried by plows. It's slowly starting to melt now however. Im still waiting for my concept frame to arrive from italy.

There used to be 3 of us who rode fixed gears to school but I'm the only one who still does it. Its in the woods and uphill on the way out. They just didn't have the constitution to stick to it. It is sad.

I put the drops back onto my bike. The risers were no good for anything over 8 miles. Yesterday I felt that my stem was sort of loose. I went to tighten it and realized that the bottom bolt was stripped out. I rode home very gingerly. Lame. Had to steal one off my other bike.
