super hypebeast dawes sst

just a quick timeline of my bike.

bought it from bikesdirect and got it a little over a week later

got her built and rode her freewheel for a bit, then the fixed bug bit me so i converted her

got a turbo, some black risers and new wheels

rockin the gold for the fly hunnies

wtf? fixies and imports? omgno!

got a set of keirin style bars, which were super fun to sprint and climb hills with, but not really my steeze

so i changed it up again, got some white azonic risers and a white turbo

yeah, pedo bear approved

Looks tacky. You could have spent the money on decent rims.

Ahaha I just noticed your cushy house has double doors. I like the fact that you live in a mansion but you got junk $20 rims.

The wheels are not that bad. I have mine now for a few months and they get ridden hard. Nothing wrong with them at all. Plus they are on a budget bike any ways.

Why knock his bike and bike?

What's so Keirin style about those bars? Looks like traditional bend road drops.

And how in the hell could you prefer stupid narrow risers to drop bars, which you now know are nice for sprinting and climbing?

Ugh.

I don't get why everyone is bashing this bike, yet they bust a nut over a kilo tt with deep-v's. When it boils down to it, they are both bikesdirect bikes that are reasonably priced, and a good buy for the money. I think the bike is done nicely, and not too over the top. The top tube cover isn't my thing, but to each their own. I really like the white v's with the gold hubs, I may purchase some in the future.

- those are not "keirin" bars aka track drops. those are road bars. without tape on them. STRIKE ONE.
- fake spokecards. (unless you got them from being in an alleycat, they're FAKE.) STRIKE TWO.
- the straps / pedal setup costs as much as the whole bike. STRIKE THREE.

FAIL!

i do, however, give you props on the pedobear head badge sticker. hilarity!

I agree that the Pedobear sticker helps. But you probably weren't a 4chan /b/tard when pedobear was actually created.

Those look like Soma laminated straps to me. Soma also makes a line of knock-off RX1 pedals. Just sayin'...

now now, don't feel bad! the kilo and the dawes are both great bikes for riding around town, they are just awful bikes for posting on the internet.
New internet rule: From now on if you buy a complete bike you have to wait at least 6 months before you spend the entire cost of the bike replacing parts on it.

Wow that is totally unique and inspiring! Thanks for starting the thread so I could see all that you've done with your amazing build!
Ok sarcasm aside... Your bike is nicely color coordinated (minus your black stem and post to silver spacers cranks and headset) and matched however it is done with nothing but low end common parts and nothing noteworthy or original. my observations of your thread are as follow... your sticker is cool, your house/parents house looks dope, you have multiple spoke cards of which I'd wager none of them are from actual events, you voted for Obama (or jumped on the popular bandwaggon and didn't even vote), you drive a scion, you have a security system, you use the phrase " all the fly ladies" thus leading me to believe you are/were/soon to be in a frat. Thanks for posting your bike I learned so much and I'm sure that it will really help the cycling community that uses this forum!

Here's a quick checklist to see if we're going to make fun of you or not. For every question to which you answer "yes" we are 10% more likely to make fun of you:

Are you planning on ignoring the pictures thread and starting a new one just for your bike?
Are you going to use the word "hypebeast" at any point?
Are you going to use the word "hater" at any point?
Is the word "hater" going to appear anywhere in your pictures, I.E. on the license plate of your car?
Are you going to post a picture of your bike next to your car?
Does your bike have a TT pad?
Could you have had a much nicer bike for a lot less money, but because you're so indecicive you ended up sidegrading (black Turbo to white Turbo) so much that your bike probably cost twice as much as it should have?
Do you have any blank spoke cards on your bike?
Do you have any gold on your bike, and, this is important, is it "for the honeys"?
Are you going to refer to a pair of regular untaped road bars as "Keirin bars" because you don't know any better?

I would say if you answered "yes" to 4 questions or less you're probably gonna be okay.
